Yakima County, WA Selects e-PlanREVIEW® to Improve Permitting and Plan Reviews - e-PlanSoft

Yakima County moves forward with leading plan review platform to accommodate social distancing requirements and public requests for faster plan review turnaround

Irvine, Calif.—December 28, 2020: e-PlanSoft™, the leading provider of electronic plan reviews for both public and private sectors, today announced that Yakima County, Washington has selected e-PlanREVIEW® (EPR) for their plan review processes.

In a move that positions the County as both proactive and responsive to community needs, the transition to e-PlanREVIEW addresses requirements and responsibility spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic to limit in-person interactions in favor of remote operations. The County will leverage CARES Act funding to shift all of their plan reviews to the cloud-based solution, allowing for remote collaboration in real-time. This move also accommodates public requests to drastically reduce the amount of time required to review and approve construction and remodel plans, which can take up to 180 days. Existing customers of e-PlanREVIEW report time savings of up to 50% over traditional paper plan reviews.

EPR was also chosen, in part, for its seamless integration with the County’s Accela Civic Platform and Citizen Access Portal, allowing for further efficiency and convenience for County employees and citizens. Using the integrated solutions, plans are submitted online and can be accessed at any time of day from any device with a secure internet connection. This also supports the County’s objective to centralize, collect, and review all documents electronically as part of their ongoing initiative to transition to paperless operations.
