Irvine, CA – December 28, 2016 e-PlanSoft™, the provider of Online Electronic Plan Review solutions, has announced the city of Anaheim, CA is implementing its web-based plan review product, e-PlanCheck (EPC) to streamline the building permit and plan review process. The EPC implementation is part of a larger project replacing the current Tidemark Land Management System with the Accela Civic Platform with the goal of allowing business operations to function more efficiently and provide staff with the opportunities to provide an even higher level of customer service to the community.
The City of Anaheim is a large tourist destination in Southern California. Major attractions including Angel’s Stadium, the Anaheim Convention Center, the Honda Center which hosts the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Team and the Disneyland Resort which itself contributes about $4.7 billion annually to Southern California’s economy. With many building and transportation projects on the horizon, the City has fast-tracked the electronic plan review portion of the more expansive Accela Civic Platform Implementation.
Anaheim will transition to electronic plan review following a multiphase approach. EPC is being implemented first in a standalone configuration, followed by full integration to the Accela Civic Platform. This allows Anaheim to begin the shift from its current paper based plan review process in the near term, while providing an extended pilot program to ensure a smooth transition for city staff, 3rd party plan reviewers, and plan applicants.
City will benefit from e-PlanCheck’s collaborative environment through the ability for multiple reviewers from multiple departments and disciplines to review the same document at the same time, while tracking all comments, markups, versions and stamps in the EPC Database. The addition of electronic submittals will reduce the current costs associated with printing, transporting, storing, and managing paper plan sets for both the city and citizen applicants.
